With the government shutdown over, the IRS is back to work. So, what does that mean for you, the taxpayer? Because of the time off, the work that has piled up over the last two weeks will be a burden.

So, if you were expecting a refund, they will be working on that. You shouldn’t expect a refund tomorrow, but if you have a refund coming, it should arrive within the next few weeks.

Also, if you received levy notices while the IRS was shutdown, you might receive new letters and phone calls, and if you had an audit scheduled during the shutdown, you can expect the IRS to be contacting you to reschedule that.

The phone lines are going to be busy, and you will have to be patient. We, at Cohesive, have a professional hotline to get through to the IRS. So, if you have issues with the IRS, please reach out to the team here at Cohesive. We can help!
